Rachael Mead’s (above) award-winning poems and short stories have been published widely in Australia and internationally, with her work appearing in The Best Australian Poems, Meanjin, Westerly, Cordite, Island, Southerly, Australian Poetry Journal, Magma Poetry (UK) and The Stinging Fly (Ireland). Rachael lives in the Adelaide Hills with her husband. The Application of Pressure is her first novel.

Born and raised in Tokyo, Katherine Tamiko Arguile is a Japanese-British-Australian arts journalist and author. She migrated from London in 2008 to Adelaide, where she now lives beside the sea. Her award-winning short stories have been published in anthologies in the UK and in Australia. The Things She Owned is her first novel.
